Get Set Clean Privacy & Cookies Policy
Important summary
This notice explains what personal information Get Set Clean uses, why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices and rights available to you.
It is a privacy notice, not a contract, and you do not need to consent to the notice itself.
Get Set Clean is a booking, coordination and payment platform. The cleaning or related services booked through the Platform are supplied by independent self-employed Service Providers. This Privacy & Cookies Policy is written to match that platform model and the Get Set Clean Terms and Conditions.
Legal framework. This Policy is intended to reflect the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR), in each case as amended from time to time.
1. Who we are
Get Set Clean is the trading name of Techcom Enterprise Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 09457703. Our registered office is The Fold, 114 Station Road, Sidcup, Kent, United Kingdom, DA15 7AE.
For most personal information described in this Policy, Techcom Enterprise Ltd is the controller. This means we decide why and how that information is used. Some third parties, such as payment providers, may also act as independent controllers for their own legal or regulatory purposes.

2. Who this Policy applies to

Capitalised terms such as Platform, Service Provider, Booking and Session have the same general meaning as in our Terms and Conditions where the context requires.
3. Our platform model and personal information
Get Set Clean operates the Platform, administers Bookings, coordinates communications and handles payments and support. The contract for the Booked Services is between the Customer and the independent Service Provider confirmed for that Booking.
To make that model work, we need to share certain information between the Customer, the Service Provider and trusted service providers. We only share information that is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
For example, a confirmed Service Provider may need the property address, access instructions, relevant contact details, service instructions, information about hazards or pets, and other details necessary to carry out the Session. Service Providers must not use Customer information for unrelated purposes.

5. Sensitive information and information about other people
Please avoid giving us special category information unless it is genuinely necessary. In some situations a Booking, safety issue, reasonable adjustment, complaint or legal claim may reveal information about health, disability, religion or another type of special category information. Where we need to use such information, we will only do so where we have both a lawful basis under the UK GDPR and an additional legal condition that permits that processing.
If we process criminal-offence information in connection with legally permitted Service Provider vetting, fraud, safety or legal claims, we will do so only where the Data Protection Act 2018 permits it and with any required safeguards.
If you give us personal information about another person - for example a guest, property manager, concierge, employee, tenant or emergency contact - you should make sure you are entitled to give us that information and, where appropriate, tell that person how their information will be used.
6. Why we use personal information and our lawful bases

7. Where we obtain personal information
We may obtain personal information:
directly from you when you create an account, make or manage a Booking, contact us, provide access details, make a payment, submit evidence or communicate with us;
from a Business Customer, property owner, host, manager or other authorised person who creates or manages a Booking involving you;
from Service Providers in connection with a Booking, attendance, completion, complaint, safety issue or payment matter;
from our payment, communications, hosting, security, fraud-prevention and other service providers;
from your device or browser when you use the Platform, subject to applicable cookie and app-permission rules; and
from public or official sources where reasonably necessary for verification, fraud prevention, legal claims or regulatory compliance.
8. Who we share personal information with
We do not sell personal information. We may share it with the following recipients where reasonably necessary:
Service Providers confirmed or considered for a Booking, but only the information reasonably needed to coordinate or perform the Session;
payment and banking providers, including our payment processor (currently Stripe), for payment processing, fraud prevention, refunds, chargebacks and regulatory purposes;
IT, cloud hosting, software, customer-support, communications, email, SMS, push-notification, security, backup and essential technical service providers, including Google where used to provide required Platform functionality;
insurers, insurance administrators, loss adjusters and other parties involved in a claim;
professional advisers such as solicitors, accountants and auditors;
law enforcement, courts, regulators, tax authorities and other public bodies where disclosure is required or permitted by law;
a buyer, seller, investor or adviser in connection with a proposed or completed sale, merger, financing or restructuring of our business; and
other parties where you ask us to share information or where we have a lawful basis to do so.
Some organisations that receive information from us act as processors under our instructions. Others may act as independent controllers because they have their own legal responsibilities or purposes. Where required, we use contracts and other safeguards appropriate to the relationship.
9. Sharing information with Service Providers
The Platform cannot coordinate a Booking without giving the relevant Service Provider enough information to attend and perform the Booked Services. Depending on the Booking, this may include the Customer name, property address, contact information, access instructions, service scope, property details, parking or building instructions, hazards, pets and relevant special instructions.
A Service Provider must use that information only for legitimate purposes connected with the Booking and must protect it appropriately. A Service Provider must not use Customer information obtained through Get Set Clean to market unrelated services, contact Customers for unrelated reasons or improperly bypass the Platform.
If Get Set Clean offers a replacement Service Provider, the necessary Booking information may be shared with the replacement once reasonably required to coordinate that Booking.
10. Access information, keys and security details
Access information can be particularly sensitive. We may process key-safe codes, alarm codes, concierge instructions, key-holding notes and similar information where you provide it for a Booking.
We restrict access to this information to people who reasonably need it for the Booking, security, support or a related investigation. We aim to remove or disable operational access information when it is no longer needed. For recurring Bookings, some access information may need to remain available while the recurring arrangement continues.
You should keep access information accurate and current and change or disable codes when appropriate, particularly after a recurring arrangement ends or where you believe a code may have been compromised.
11. Property photos, video, timing and location records
Photos, videos, timing information and location-enabled records may be useful evidence that a Session was attended, completed or affected by a particular issue. We will use them only for legitimate operational, quality, safety, complaint, insurance, fraud, chargeback or legal purposes.
Service Providers should avoid deliberately photographing people, identity documents, financial information, medical information or other private material unless it is genuinely necessary for a specific incident, complaint or claim. Customers should remove or secure private or sensitive items where reasonably possible, as explained in the Terms and Conditions.
Where an app location feature is enabled, we may process a Service Provider device location during or around an active Booking to support dispatch, estimated arrival, attendance, safety or Booking progress. We do not use location information for unrelated purposes. Device permissions may be controlled through the relevant app and operating-system settings, although disabling a permission may prevent some features from working.
12. Payments, Stripe, fraud prevention and chargebacks
Payments for Booked Services are collected by Get Set Clean on behalf of the relevant Service Provider, in line with our Terms and Conditions. Our payment provider processes card details and may provide us with transaction records, payment status, limited card details, risk indicators and identifiers needed to administer the Booking.
At the date of this Policy, Stripe is our primary payment provider. Stripe may process information as an independent controller for some payment, fraud-prevention and regulatory purposes. Stripe publishes its own privacy information at https://stripe.com/gb/privacy.
Payment providers may use automated fraud-prevention tools to assess or challenge transactions. We may also use Booking, communication, timing, location and evidential records to prevent fraud or respond to a payment dispute or chargeback where lawful.
13. Service messages, marketing, reviews and feedback
Service messages
We may send emails, texts, app notifications or other messages that are necessary to create, manage or support your Booking, account, payment, complaint or security. These are operational communications rather than direct marketing, although you may be able to control some app-notification settings on your device.
Direct marketing
We may send direct marketing about Get Set Clean services where the law allows us to do so. For individuals, this will normally be based on consent or, where PECR permits, the existing-customer soft opt-in for similar services. We will provide a simple way to opt out in marketing communications. You can also contact office@getsetclean.co.uk at any time. An opt-out does not stop essential Booking or account messages.
Reviews and feedback
We may ask you to review a Booking or provide feedback. Where you submit feedback directly to Get Set Clean or through the Platform, our Terms allow us to use it for legitimate business, quality and marketing purposes. We may anonymise it or use a first name or initial where appropriate. If we want to use a photograph, full identity or other material in a way that goes beyond what you would reasonably expect, we will obtain any additional permission required by law.
We do not treat a review posted independently on a third-party site as permission to reuse personal information beyond what applicable law and that site’s rules permit.
14. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website and apps use a limited number of cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the secure and reliable operation of the Get Set Clean Platform.
These may include essential cookies or technologies provided by Google where they are required for security, technical operation, session management, booking or payment functionality, or another feature requested by the user.
Where a cookie or similar technology is strictly necessary to provide the website, app or requested functionality, UK law does not normally require us to obtain your consent before using it. We will still provide clear information about the technologies we use and their purposes.
At the date of this Policy, we do not use non-essential analytics, advertising, remarketing or behavioural-tracking cookies. Because the cookies we use are necessary for the Platform to operate, we do not ask you to consent to them. We may display an informational cookie notice.
If we introduce non-essential analytics, advertising or other tracking technologies in the future, we will update this Policy and introduce any consent or cookie controls required by law before using them.
15. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where this is a restricted transfer under UK data protection law, we use a lawful transfer mechanism appropriate to the destination and recipient.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, or another safeguard or exception permitted by law. We also consider the level of protection and any additional measures required for the transfer.
You can contact us if you would like more information about the safeguards relevant to a particular transfer.
16. How long we keep personal information
We do not keep personal information for longer than we need it. Retention depends on the purpose, the nature of the information, legal requirements and whether it is needed for a complaint, chargeback, insurance matter or legal claim. Our main retention approach is:
Core account and Booking records
Retention: Normally for the life of the customer or Service Provider relationship and then up to 6 years where needed for contractual records, disputes or legal claims.
Financial, invoice and tax records
Retention: For the period required by applicable accounting and tax law, commonly around 6 years for relevant business records.
Routine property photos or videos
Retention: Normally deleted or removed from routine operational use within 30 days after the relevant Session, unless needed for an ongoing complaint, claim, insurance matter, chargeback, fraud investigation or legal purpose.
Complaint, damage, insurance and legal-claim evidence
Retention: For as long as reasonably needed to resolve the matter and, where justified, for the relevant limitation or legal-record period afterwards.
Access codes and operational access instructions
Retention: For as long as reasonably required for active or recurring Bookings, then removed from operational systems when no longer needed, subject to limited backup and dispute requirements.
Timing and location-enabled records
Retention: For a limited period based on operational, safety, attendance, fraud, complaint and chargeback needs. Records linked to a live dispute or claim may be kept with that case for longer.
Marketing preferences
Retention: Until you opt out or the information is no longer useful. We may keep a minimal suppression record so we can respect an opt-out.
Essential cookie, session and technical records
Retention: For the lifetime of the relevant session or for the limited period technically required for security, login, booking, payment or requested functionality. Related security or diagnostic logs may be kept longer where reasonably necessary to protect or troubleshoot the Platform.
Service Provider onboarding and Platform records
Retention: For the relationship and then for a period reasonably required for contractual, payment, tax, safety, complaint and legal-claim purposes, commonly up to 6 years for core records.
We may keep information for longer where required by law, where a regulator or court requires it, where litigation or a dispute is reasonably anticipated, or where deletion is temporarily prevented by secure backup cycles. We may anonymise information so that it is no longer personal information and use the anonymised data for longer-term statistical or business analysis.
17. Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against accidental loss, unauthorised access, misuse, alteration or disclosure. Depending on the system and risk, these measures may include access controls, authentication, encryption in transit, logging, secure hosting, backups, staff access restrictions, supplier contracts and security monitoring.
No electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If a personal-data breach occurs, we will assess it and notify the Information Commissioner’s Office and affected individuals where the law requires us to do so.
18. Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis we rely on, you may have the right to:
be informed about how your personal information is used;
ask for access to the personal information we hold about you;
ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
ask us to erase information where the law gives you that right;
ask us to restrict certain processing;
receive certain information in a portable format and ask for it to be transferred where the portability right applies;
object to processing based on legitimate interests in certain circumstances;
object at any time to the use of your personal information for direct marketing;
withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing; and
receive safeguards in relation to solely automated decisions where UK data protection law gives you those rights.
These rights are not absolute and exemptions can apply. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We normally respond to rights requests within one month, subject to any lawful extension or pause where clarification is reasonably required.
To exercise a right, email office@getsetclean.co.uk.
19. Automated tools and fraud checks
We and our service providers may use automated tools to help detect fraud, protect accounts, assess payment risk, route Bookings or identify operational issues. For example, a payment provider may automatically flag, challenge or decline a transaction based on fraud indicators.
Where Get Set Clean makes a decision based solely on automated processing that has a legal or similarly significant effect and UK data protection law gives you specific rights, we will provide the required information and safeguards, including any applicable right to request human involvement or challenge the decision.
20. Data protection complaints
If you believe we have not handled your personal information properly, you can make a data protection complaint to us at office@getsetclean.co.uk. Please include enough information for us to understand the issue and investigate it.
In line with the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, we maintain a process for handling data protection complaints. We will acknowledge a data protection complaint within 30 days, take appropriate steps to investigate it without undue delay, keep you informed where appropriate, and tell you the outcome of our investigation.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You can find current contact and complaint information at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first, but you do not lose your right to contact the ICO.
21. Children
The Get Set Clean Platform is intended for adults and authorised business users, not for children to create or manage Bookings. We may incidentally process information relating to children where this is relevant to a property or safety issue, but we ask Customers and Service Providers not to provide or capture children’s information unless reasonably necessary.
22. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when our Platform, suppliers, business practices or the law changes. The latest version will be published at www.getsetclean.co.uk/privacy and will show its last-updated date. Where a change would materially affect how we use personal information, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to the attention of affected people and obtain consent where the law requires consent.
